INVISIBLE OR INVINCIBLE?

Who will win this battle? It depends on the comparative strength of the parties. If we are stronger, we will win. If our enemy is stronger, he will win. What if our enemy is invisible? Then it will be very difficult to fight him. We cannot see him. We don’t know how he looks like and what his weapons are. It would be like somebody trying to catch a black cat in a dark room. Chances of success are less unless we are very lucky. On the other hand if our enemy comes face to face with us, then it is easy to assess his strength and chalk out our strategies accordingly. We should be extremely cautious while fighting an invisible enemy.

Coronavirus is an INVISIBLE enemy. We don’t know its traits and characteristics. We don’t know how it originated. We are totally in the dark as to how it mutates itself into new strains. Our knowledge about it is pathetically limited. We are fighting an invisible enemy. We don’t have a clearcut strategy. What we do is simple trial and error methods in the wild hope that one of these measures will finally succeed in arresting the spread of COVID-19.

Does it mean that we are fighting a losing battle? Absolutely not. Because we have with us an INVINCIBLE ally to fight alongside in this battle. It is Jesus Christ, the INVINCIBLE Son of God. He conquered everything and the last enemy he conquered was death. We call him our Saviour because he came to this world to save our souls from the biggest of all evils, sin. When we have such a powerful ally on our part in this battle against the INVISIBLE enemy called Coronavirus, why should we worry? Whom should we fear? Jesus Christ is ready to take away the infirmities and diseases of our body, mind and soul. It was his mission to make us whole again.

‘This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah. “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases” ( Mathew 8:14). Do you think that Coronavirus can conquer our faith? It could torture us for a while. But ultimate victory will be ours, because we fight with the help of Jesus, our INVINCIBLE ally.

Just before ascending into heaven, Jesus reassured us that he is in total control of everything on earth and in heaven. ‘And Jesus came and said to them, ” All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” ( Mathew 28:18).

Put your trust in the Risen Jesus Christ who is INVINCIBLE. Do not fear the INVISIBLE enemy.

We, the VCatholic team wish all our readers a blessed Easter. We know that for many amongst us, this Easter brings miseries, pain, heartbreaks and empty foodshelves. But the Risen Lord is capable to compensate for all those shortcomings with his fathomless love. He has promised us that he will be with us to the end of the ages. He has won the battle for us.

Let us sing;

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!
Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!
