SPECIAL DAY, SPECIAL GRACES

We wish all our readers a very blessed  Divine Mercy Sunday.

Today  we need to   contemplate three important messages from the diary of St Faustine. ‘Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment (Diary 300). I want to grant a complete pardon to the souls that will go to confession and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of My mercy (Diary 1109). On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity.… Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy (Diary 699).

The Feast of Divine Mercy is a great day offering us the opportunity to  obtain a plenary indulgence as also  extra ordinary graces  promised by  Jesus. So let us  approach the fount of Divine Mercy  today in a worthy manner and  draw from the  open floodgates of  Divine Mercy.

What to do?

Sincerely repent of all our sins, go to confession preferably before the Feast, place our complete trust in Jesus, and celebrate the  Feast of Divine Mercy  by receiving Holy Communion in a state of  grace on the day of the Feast (or its Vigil) and  venerating the Image of the Divine Mercy.  Remember that the  first condition to  ask  mercy from  God is to show mercy to others. So be merciful to others in our actions and words or by praying for them.

In addition to  plenary  indulgence, the Divine Mercy  Feast also  brings  another  gift in the  form of  extra ordinary  graces  promised by Jesus. Worthy reception of   Holy Communion  by making a  good confession  beforehand is a  special condition for  obtaining this extraordinary grace.

The Feast of  Divine Mercy is not  just another  feast offering   plenary indulgence. It is one of a kind. So don’t miss this  opportunity when the floodgates of   God’s mercy are open.

Let us pray: Jesus, I trust in You.
